Assistant Event Operations Manager, Central London Permanent, Onsite working, £37,600 plus great benefits
Leading professional membership and education body is recruiting for this exciting permanent role to become part of the busy team within hospitality, catering and events for internal and external clients. You will supervise staff and assist Managers with smooth running of operations.

Responsibilities include:
- Lead operations for functions as required
- Ensure all mise-en place and preparation of the service areas are completed ahead of scheduled event start/service times
- Give clear directions to Front of House and agency workers to ensure all staff briefed on the Events
- Assist in the training and development and motivation of the team
- Ensure all tasks carried out meet company health, hygiene, and quality and safety standards and comply with the Safe Food Act 1995
- Monitor and maintain a high standard of Health & Safety throughout all areas of the catering department
- Communicate details of any accidents to the senior manager
- Record accurate accounts of drinks consumption
- Assist in monthly stock take
- Monitor the control of the money for bars, highlighting any discrepancies
- Assist in any data analysis as requested by the Head of Catering
- Be aware of any client specific budgets
- Collate sales reports as requested
- Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of the silver
- Ensure planning and monitoring of the laundry/linen requirements according to the events schedule
- Ensure all cleaning is carried out in accordance with cleaning schedule and complete records
- Ensure security policy and procedures are adhered to by all staff at all times
- Be responsible for event licensee or security issues
- Act as First Aider and Fire Marshall when needed
Skills and Experience needed:
- Events operations and supervisory experience which could have been gained in 4 or 5 star hotels or leading venues / office in which catering and events are organised
- People focused - enthusiasm for proving great service
- Strong people management skills, able to guide and motivate junior team members
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written plus Word and Excel
- Ability to manage a team to achieve objectives and to delegate duties
- Proven organisational and planning skills and able to meet deadlines under pressure
- Flexible with the ability to adapt and respond to priorities
- Conscious of minimising waste and how to reduce costs
- If you have COSHH and WSET training that would be useful as would awareness of H.A.C.C.P and Allergen regulations and instructions
