Deputy Facilities Manager (Cleaning & Portering), Central London, Permanent, full-time (35 hours per week, flexible shifts across Mon–Sun), £35,000
We are currently recruiting for a Deputy Facilities Manager to join a leading Higher Education institution in London. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a key role supporting the delivery of cleaning and portering services across multiple busy sites.
- Lead and support cleaning and portering teams to deliver a high-quality, responsive service.
- Manage supervisors and operatives, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Oversee scheduling, resource allocation, contracts and budgets.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, including COSHH and risk assessments.
- Promote sustainability initiatives including waste management and recycling.
- Work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to provide excellent customer service.
The ideally you will have:
- Proven experience managing or supervising cleaning/portering services in a large or complex environment.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills with the ability to motivate teams.
- Knowledge of health & safety standards e.g. COSHH, and compliance processes
- Budget and resource management experience.
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement ability.
- Fluency in Spanish (spoken and written).
