Document Controller, Architecture, London, Temporary one month – with the possibility of extension, £16.30 per hour plus holiday pay
Established and forward-thinking architectural practice is seeking a Document Controller to join its London team. This role offers the opportunity to work within a design-focused environment, supporting a range of exciting projects across multiple sectors. Working alongside and reporting to the Document Control Team Lead, the successful candidate will provide essential support to project teams and the wider Practice Operations function, ensuring that all documentation is managed efficiently, accurately, and in line with company protocols. This is to start in November and will be for 1 month then possibly on a rolling basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update project extranets and electronic document management systems (EDMS), including Asite, Aconex, Viewpoint (4P) and BIM360
- Carry out routine document control activities such as QA checks, file uploads/downloads, version control, returning comments, and handling queries
- Manage drawing files and documentation in accordance with project-specific procedures
- Ensure all document control protocols and workflows are followed accurately and consistently
- Assist in maintaining the practice-wide document management system (Newforma)
- Provide guidance and support to project teams on document management best practice
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a Document Control role, ideally within an architectural, engineering or construction environment
- Strong IT skills, with proficiency in:
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- EDMS platforms such as Asite, Aconex, Viewpoint (4P), BIM360, and Newforma
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in managing technical documentation
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask
- Proactive, motivated and adaptable with a positive approach to work
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams
- Reliable, friendly, and willing to take on a variety of duties in a fast-paced environment
