Faculty Administrator, Temporary (8 weeks), Part-Time (28 hours), Central London, £19 per hour plus holiday pay, Immediate start
A well-established Central London higher education organisation is seeking an experienced Faculty Administrator to support the day-to-day operations of a busy Faculty Office on a temporary basis. This is a varied, fast-paced role suited to an organised and experienced Faculty Administrator.
The role
Reporting to senior faculty management, you will provide comprehensive administrative support across faculty operations, communications, events, teaching support and finance. Key responsibilities include:
- Organising meetings, managing diaries, preparing agendas, taking minutes and following up on actions
- Acting as committee secretary for faculty committees and working groups, including Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) forums
- Supporting faculty communications, including producing newsletters, maintaining intranet and web content, and cascading information to staff and students
- Managing shared inboxes and acting as a key point of contact for communications queries
- Supporting the organisation of faculty events, workshops, seminars and lectures, including liaison with internal teams and external providers
- Providing administrative support for teaching activity and short courses, including financial tracking and reporting
- Supporting admissions processes for postgraduate programmes
- Assisting with financial administration, including reconciliations, reporting and ordering equipment
- Supporting health & safety records, space management and general faculty operations
- Providing cover for other faculty office staff as required
About the candidate
- Significant experience as a Faculty Administrator
- The ability to manage a varied workload, prioritise effectively and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience of organising meetings or events
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, with confidence handling data and producing reports
- A professional, collaborative approach, with discretion and the ability to handle confidential information
