Project Coordinator, University, Part-Time, 20 hours per week, £22/hr plus holiday pay, London, Hybrid
A world-leading public health research institution is looking for a highly organised and proactive Project Coordinator to support an internationally recognised portfolio of research.

As Project Coordinator, you will provide comprehensive administrative, financial, and logistical support across a diverse portfolio of large-scale research grants. Working closely with Principal Investigators and international collaborators, you will ensure projects run smoothly from grant application through to reporting and audit. You will be part of a high-performing, friendly professional services team and will play a central role in maintaining operational excellence and compliance.
Key Responsibilities (not exhaustive)
Project & Grant Administration
- Coordinate all non-scientific aspects of research projects
- Prepare and cost research grant applications in line with funder regulations
- Maintain effective project management and information systems
Financial Management
- Proactively manage project budgets (including high-value grants)
- Produce accurate costings, forecasts, re-profiles, and financial reports
- Provide financial insight and advice to Principal Investigators
Human Resources Support
- Assist with recruitment processes and staff forecasting
- Prepare contract variations and funding extensions
- Support onboarding and compliance for UK and overseas staff
Communications & Reporting
- Maintain project webpages and communications materials
- Contribute to newsletters, annual reports, and dissemination outputs
- Ensure compliance with open access and reporting requirements
We are seeking a confident and detail-oriented professional with:
- Substantial administrative experience within a University / Higher Education or a similar research-focused environment
- Degree-level education (or equivalent experience)
- Strong experience supporting research grants and managing project budgets
- Proven ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong IT skills (including Excel and Word)
- Financial literacy and sound budgeting knowledge
